The Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID), through its African Centre for Vector Genomics (AVecGen), was honored to participate as an official exhibitor at the 21st Annual Vector Control Working Group (VCWG) Meeting, held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. Organized by the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership to End Malaria, this major global gathering brought together researchers, policymakers, and public health practitioners committed to accelerating malaria elimination.
Throughout the event, CRID researchers Dr. Magellan Tchouakui, Dr. Mewamba Estelle, Dr. Gadji Mahamat, and Dr. Jessy Goupeyou were on-site presenting AVecGen's state-of-the-art facilities, advanced sequencing services, and high-throughput genomic tools. The exhibition provides a vital platform to demonstrate how African-led genomic surveillance and regional sequencing infrastructure directly inform and strengthen vector control strategies across the continent.
Delegates and partners attending the VCWG meeting were warmly invited to visit the CRID and AVecGen exhibit stand at the Mövenpick Hotel to explore potential research collaborations, learn about available sequencing pipelines, and discuss how vector genomics can optimize targeted public health interventions.
